We went on your rafting tour a few years ago at Letchworth. It was a wonderful experience. We would love to do it again. How much rain is usually called for to go on the Genesee River? Or is it usually done for the season at this point in the summer? Great company to work with! Highly recommended!

Thank you for your kind words. We certainly will have trips through the gorge again this season, but, it will likely be late September before it's raining consistently enough to bring the river back up to a raftable level and keep it there. We do look forward to sharing the gorge with you again, hopefully soon.

Hi Kevin. We scheduled a trip for next Saturday, August 29th. Based on the two comments above, is the trip off, or are there other routes besides the gorge? Thanks.

Whether or not we're able to paddle the gorge on Saturday, 08/29 will depend entirely on how much rain, if any, we get in the watershed over the coming days. Should the river remain too low I will contact everyone that made a reservation a day or two prior.

Good morning Kevin. Just checking in to see if Saturday August 29th is a go or not. Thanks for your response. Have a nice day.

Unfortunately, we are not running any trips at the park this weekend. The rain that was forecast never materialized.

Kevin for the update on the Salmon. Do you have a web link to check the release status or do you have a friend on the inside informing you? Thanks.

We were notified by Brookfield Power, not sure why it wasn't updated on the Flowpaddlers.org page by their club admin.

Curious as to how the rivers are possibly looking for the week of Sept 21st. Any guesstimates for being able to paddle?

Kevin Kretschmer said...

There is some rain in the forecast for that week so hopefully, we'll be running the river by 09/26 & 09/27.

Hi, My son, his girlfriend and I are hoping to raft this upcoming Tuesday or Wednesday. How is the river looking for the week ahead?

Thanks,
Chris

As of this morning, the river is too low for us to paddle the gorge, and will remain so until we get more measurable rainfall in the watershed.
